Latest painting and a video of how it’s done

As many of my collectors and fans know, I find myself on balconies and bridges, capturing video of people walking an overhead perspective.  “Parisian Woman With Blonde Hair And Big Coat” depicts a woman walking briskly down St. Germain on a beautiful windy winter day in Paris. Occasionally, I also use video to capture my process, to share a look inside my studio with you on my YouTube Channel, KeatingArt, where I have over 20 time-lapse speed painting videos. Here’s a link directly to the video.

"Leather Couple In Paris II", Latest Painting

36" X 48" oil on canvas, "Leather Jacket Couple In Paris", is a figurative painting from my award-winning Overview series of original oil paintings. It is a painting of a couple in leather jackets viewed from above, walking on St. Germain in Paris, France. These foreshortened walking figures were captured on video walking on St. Germain after a Paris rain and then painted on archival, museum wrap canvas with a type of mark making that I have invented, Pixelated Impressionism, a signature style in which the expressive swashes of paint depict the moving pixels from the original digital video reference image. more info>

This figure of a man and his cast shadow was captured on video walking in Paris and then painted on archival, museum wrap canvas with a type of mark making called,Pixelated Impressionism, a signature style in which the expressive swashes of paint depict the moving pixels from the original digital video reference image. more>

Larger Version Of Previous Figurative Painting

Large, 40" x 30" original oil on canvas, "Parisian With Cap And Blue Duffel Bag No.2", is from the same subject as the much smaller painting that I just completed:

The idea in using a closer crop on this oil painting is to emulate the action of a telephoto lens with paintings that "zoom in".  This figure of a man in Paris was captured on video walking on St. Germain after a Paris rain.
